Duration
3 minutes

In 2017 the Lake Bolac Eel Festival initiated the Djabwurrung River Time project.

This collaboration brought together students from Lake Bolac, Willaura, Ararat, and Mildura to participate in a walk along the Hopkins River where they experienced cultural activities.

A major outcome of this project was that the students wrote a song and created a dance that they performed at the 2018 Eel Festival.

Elder Ted Lovett, along with Adeline Thomas and Lee Morgan, shared stories, experience and expertise to give the students, many of which had indigenous heritage, some understanding of the cultural and environmental history of the area.
