The Grand Imaginator visits Mathew Gardiner as he makes an 8-page book.

"Cabbe melemung il, marramb-ik Mathew Gardiner. I am a Woi Wurrung speaking young man from the Wurundjeri people. I work in language, linguistics of Woi wurrung. I help community revive the language."

Mathew has taught Woi wurrung to students in primary schools on the traditional lands of his people, and also ran Koorie Club for Aboriginal students incorporating language, stories, discussions, and art.

In 2017, Mathew worked with Kids’ Own Publishing and the Playgroup Mob at Casey Gathering Place to incorporate language into a book called Fun in the Water. In 2018, Fun in the Water was shortlisted for the Speech Pathology Australia Book Awards in the Indigenous Children category.
