The Grand Imaginator visits Bern Emmerichs, a Melbourne based studio artist whose diverse practice includes painting, mosaic, design and public art.

She mainly works with ceramics, often painting on tiles but her 8-page book is made with scratch paper and food dye.

Her successful career has spanned 40 years and she has shown both nationally and internationally. Bern is best known to young readers for her stunning illustration of picture books including M is for Mutiny: History by Alphabet and The Unlikely Story of Bennelong and Phillip.

Make your own 8-page book and send it to readmybook@kidsownpublishing.com to be read by Brigid in the Book Cubby.
