Our Journey is a compilation of digital stories conceived, animated, and narrated by students from the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School, Australia.

The ideas and messages explored provide insights into the challenges and experiences associated with living and studying in Melbourne, away from families, and often remote communities. By centralising the student’s own voices, the stories serve to communicate their cultures, languages, values, interests and histories to a wider audience.

The stories demonstrate the MITS values of culture, care, courage, and respect.

Through four animated animal characters, Our Journey tells stories about MITS students' experiences of living and studying in Melbourne.

The Proud Dingo is a story about feeling proud to be who you are.

The Scared Jellyfish is a story about getting lost in Melbourne.

The Lonely Echidna is a story about feeling homesick and making new friends.

The Excited Parrot is about travelling to the snow for the first time and dreaming of the future.

The episodes are narrated in the Indigenous languages of Kriol, Luritja, Kunwinj’ku, and Djambarrpuyngu.
