Bouncing Back with Melbourne City Football Club

With the support of fans and the Melbourne City FC, charitable organisation City in the Community uses the power of football to promote employment, social inclusion and physical activity.

City in the Community aims to forge closer links between the football club and the local Victorian community, with social responsibility an essential part of the fabric of Melbourne City.

Projects such as Cityzens Giving, City at Work, and the Young Leader training allow the Club to engage and empower a variety of groups from local communities.

About #BouncingBack

The Bouncing Back project will build strategically on City in the Community Melbourne’s existing multicultural community networks by using football to reach out and positively impact many more young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds that have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project will engage young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds across the state through social media and interactive digital challenges by tapping into community groups, youth services, local government services, educational facilities that support them as well as community football clubs that are aligned with the club.

CITC will also engage its own young community leaders (participating in CITC leadership programs) to connect with their peers and their community and drive the project. They will be ambassadors and assisting in the implementation and promotion.
