City in the Community - Young Leaders Training

This project engages young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds across the state through social media and interactive digital challenges.

Bouncing Back with Melbourne City Football Club

With the support of fans and the Melbourne City FC, charitable organisation City in the Community uses the power of football to promote employment, social inclusion and physical activity.

Duration
3 Minutes

The Bouncing Back project builds strategically on City in the Community Melbourne’s existing multicultural community networks by using football to reach out and positively impact many more young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds that have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project engages young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds across the state through social media and interactive digital challenges by tapping into community groups, youth services, local government services, educational facilities that support them as well as community football clubs that are aligned with the club.

CITC engages its own young community leaders (participating in CITC leadership programs) to connect with their peers and their community and drive the project. They are ambassadors and assist in the implementation and promotion.

The project celebrates Victoria’s resilience and capacity to bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
