Hear from women who are juggling work and study with their dream job of working and playing professionally for Collingwood Football & Netball Club.

Duration
7 minutes

What does it take to be an elite female athlete?

On-field, Stacey Livingstone is known as Collingwood’s AFLW leading full-back whose turnovers get fans on their feet.

But away from the game, the 32-year-old gets up at 4am every morning, to head to her job as a freight worker.

Knocking off around 2pm, Stacey only has a couple of hours to spare before heading to the club for her training session with the team. On a good day, she'll fit a quick nap in between, on other days - it's caffeine that gets her through.

Stacey's story is one of dedication, sacrifice, and hard work - all to achieve her dream of playing footy for Collingwood in the AFLW. She hopes women like her are paving the way for future AFLW players to focus solely on their sport.
