Show us you can play AFL wheelchair team in action

Show Us You Can Play! is a series of uplifting stories with inspirational people who are living proof that participating in sport and recreation is a right for all Victorians.

The series has been created by  Disability Sport & Recreation (DSR) , an organisation that has been supporting people with disability in the sport and recreation sector for over 58 years.

Meet the athletes from such sports as AFL Wheelchair, powerchair sports, lawn bowls, calisthenics, wheelchair rugby, blind cricket, and blind football (soccer), and see the life-changing impact sport and recreation can have on people's lives.

Each episode shows us just how important education, inclusive attitudes, and mindset can be, driving home the idea, 'You Can't Be What You Can't See' which is a key theme for the whole series.

Show Us You Can Play! also addresses the social isolation and mental health concerns that people with disability experience.

Through watching, sharing, and engaging with this series, we hope you will not only consider how to get involved - but inspire and uplift others who may benefit from a greater awareness of how our entire community can become more active.

We want to hear your story!

DSR extends an open invitation to all Victorians with a disability, their friends and families, to submit short videos showing how they have been able to keep active at home or in their area in recent times.

Once submissions close, an independent panel will choose the three (3) most unique and innovative stories that showcase how people with disability have been active or those who demonstrated how the beauty and attractions of Victoria can encourage physical activity and overall wellness.

The chosen applicants will work with DSR to tell their stories through professional videos that will be featured on Victoria Together.

All the videos we receive will also be hosted on DSR TV, and become part of a wider showcase that highlights the different ways people with disability can get active.

Come on, Show Us You Can Play!
