Tuned In

A series produced by the youth of CMY, sharing their connections with sport and mental health.

4 minutes

Nasradin has made friends from all over the world through his love of soccer. His friends say it helped him adapt to Australia faster, and he was able to foster deep and meaningful connections with people through the sport.

“I want to share my story because sport has provided me with a community – it’s allowed me to make new friends and see new places.

It’s been so valuable for my mental health – always having something to look forward to on the weekends.

Sport doesn’t require great local language – the effort you put in on the pitch will speak for itself!”

Produced by the youth of CMY.

The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY)  has been facilitating youth participation in sport for over 20 years. They work closely with sports clubs and organisations in Victoria, with the aim of creating a sector that is more accessible, inclusive and responsive to the needs of young people from diverse backgrounds.
