Bureau of Works is collaborating with Melbourne-based artist Jackson Castiglione to develop a theatre work about the childhood experience of parental separation.

Based on the French production La Dispute by Mohamed El Khatib, this local version will come from the point of view of children, using their words, perspectives, and ideas.

Bureau of Works are looking for families with children aged between 8 – 12 years who would like to participate in an initial research interview in February 2021.

The interview questions will be carefully crafted to ensure the conversation is from the child’s point of view, exploring their perception of this event with them.

The resulting show will include a cast of six children in front of a live audience. Interviewees interested in this additional opportunity will be invited to an easy and gentle audition process to join the cast. The performance season will take place in late May 2021.
