VT Weekender: What to do at home this weekend

Your plans may have been postponed, but that doesn't mean you have to be bored at home. We have plenty of activities to keep you busy and keep kids engaged this weekend.
Victoria has gone into a snap circuit-breaker lockdown, which means a weekend at home for us all.

But even if your weekend plans have fallen through, doesn't mean you can't have a good time.

We've lined up a bunch of online activities and resources you can check out so you're not destined for a monotonous weekend binge-fest on the couch...Unless that's what you're looking forward to - in which case, we have something for that, too!

Keep moving

If the gym is your second home, you might be wondering what you can do over the next little while to get the gains in.

While we are permitted to exercise outside for 2 hours with one other person, we have some home workouts you can do to work up a sweat.

If you're looking for something that's not so high-intensity, we have plenty of mindfulness, meditation, and yoga resources for you to try to find your calm.

Stay active at home

Just because you're at home doesn't mean you need to go backwards on your goals. Try one of these home workouts and feel the burn at home.

Find your zen

If you're looking to destress, there are plenty of meditation and mindfulness resources you can access while at home.

Get creative

Who doesn't love a good crafternoon at home?!

Whether it's painting or pottery, there is something so satisfying about getting creative, sprawling your current project and tools across the family dining table, and seeing what comes to life.

If slam poetry is more your jam, there are other ways to get creative like learning a new dance, making music, or writing.

Footscray Community Arts Centre has a series of online creative workshops for both kids and adults that will keep everyone entertained.

In the kitchen

Why not become the Masterchef of your household this weekend and try a new recipe?

There are even a few Melbourne faves to try your hand at if you missed an opportunity to dine out in the next week.
